It’s been a while since we’ve sent out an update, but we wanted to inform you about some exciting events coming in the next few weeks at ChiTownBio.
This week, please get excited about our upcoming event on biochemistry at the Empirical Taproom this Thursday (September 25th)! We’re going to be playing with some easily obtained enzymes and testing their potential uses while enjoying some delicious beers. More information can be found on our MeetUp page.
On October 7th, join us for our first official fundraiser at Hamburger Mary’s for HamBingo. We look forward to a night of bingo with proceeds being raised for ChiTownBio. More information can be found on our MeetUp page for the event.
Lastly, we’re excited to announce the next book we’re reading for our Biotech Book Club. We’re going to be reading “Light at the Speed of Light” by J. Craig Venter. Venter is a scientist who has been a driving force in genomics, biotechnology, and synthetic biology, and his book should provide insight into where the field has been and where it is going. We’re in the process of scheduling this, but plan on discussing the book in Late October, Early November.
We hope to see you all soon! Cheers!
